Telstra/bigpond signal issue

Just out of curiosity has anyone ever had this issue?

I have broadband cable. My connection has been crap the past week....ie; bouncing between 53bits/s and 33Mb/s. Yep thats right...53 bits not Kb. Needless to say it has been useless from time to time. My modem reports .5db above minimum required. So my signal power and clarity is crap. Does anyone know if they simply put a booster or amp on? My concern is those also boost signal noise as well which isn't good. Fyi Adelaide has some crap old lines and my neighborhood is suposed to be new (last 4-5 years.)

Re: Telstra/bigpond signal issue

Thing is with the speed issues i've been getting loading simple pages doesn't happen. Then again at less than a kilo a sec even downloading an mp3 would take over a day. So you could imagine trying to game on anything (even flash games) my speeds aren't capable. I just hope they get it sorted. Its sad that telstra lines are about 15-20 yrs behimd the times in Adelaide.
